The band, then and now.

History

SwingStreet was original started by Fred Mildon in the late 1990s. Fred was a lifetime musician who played and toured with the big bands of yesteryear. SwingStreet was his chance to create and play in a band performing the much loved music of the '30s, '40s, '50s and '60s. SwingStreet was ended by Fred in the 2010s and in 2018 Fred passed at the age of 88.

In honor of Fred, some of the original SwingStreet musicians, and others — who knew Fred and the band — have come together to continue Fred's dream of creating big band, swing and jazz music.

SwingStreet II - a new vision.

The band was started in 2022. Lori Martin, vocalist and reed player heads the band.

Some of the best players in Durham Region have been chosen to participate. These are people who have proven themselves to be talented musicians and professionals.

The band is evolving into an Entertainment group whose goal is to diversify the performance and musical repertoire and adapt to any type of show or concert - from weddings and parties, to festivals and events. SwingStreet plans to be the chosen entertainment group for Durham Region and represent the area in many public and private events.

The Music
